Seosamh Mac Grianna (Joe Mhicí Jimí)

Joe Mhicí Jimí was born and raised in Rann na Feirste where he still lives and has been involved in music for a long time. He plays the tin whistle and is full of talent on the accordion as well and that’s why this CD is worth listening to. Mánus Lunny did a great job producing the guitar accompaniment and bass. The other four musicians – John Michael Ó Domhnaill Guitar, Joe Óg Mhicí Jimí and Michael McGoldrick Whistles and Stephen Campbell on fiddle and viola allow Joe to develop his own musical ability by providing subtle, uninterrupted accompaniment on Joe ‘s own presentation. On this disc you will find a mix of tunes, reels, a few slow tunes, a few marches and a pipe coil.

It is very rare nowadays for whistling treasures like this to come to light and for that reason it would be negligent not to have a copy of this on hand.
